He accused the centre and alleged that the decision to delink Assam was taken for political gain. ‘I was completely kept in the dark about the decision.”
Assam unit of BJP was unconformable with NDA government move to ratify the Land boundary agreement for this has become an emotive issue in Assam and state is going to polls next year.
BJP in Lok Sabha polls opposed the land boundary agreement and it was an electoral issue. Gogoi said, "BJP is a party of double standards. The agreement was signed when our government was in power keeping the interest of our country. We lost election however we still believe that deal is good for Assam.
