BJP Punjab president Vijay Sampla offers to resign
NEW DELHI: BJP Punjab unit president and Cabinet minister Vijay Sampla said last night he will resign from both posts, reportedly being displeased over the distribution of tickets for the upcoming Punjab Assembly polls.

Sampla's ultimatum came hours after the BJP released six more names for the Punjab assembly elections. Sources said Sampla is unhappy with the BJP's decision to field Som Prakash from the Fagwara constituency. It is believed Sampla wanted a candidate of his choosing to contest for the seat.

The Union minister said that he's ready to resign if the BJP top brass doesn't amend its decision. Sampla sent his resignation to BJP national president Amit Shah, Times Now reported.

The BJP, which has allied with Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's Shiromani Akali Dal, has now announced all of its 23 candidates for the polls.
