BJP protests hike in fuel prices

BJP leaders today staged demonstrations across New Delhi.

CHANDIGARH: Opposing the hike in prices of petro-products, BJP leaders on Saturday staged demonstrations across the city.

BJP workers also held demonstrations at other places in Punjab and Haryana.

"The fresh increase will put more burden on the common man who is already bearing the brunt of high food inflation," Chandigarh BJP chief Sanjay Tandon said here.

"The anti-people face of the UPA has once again been exposed. We demand an immediate rollback," Tandon said.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has flayed the Centre for making "unwarranted and steep" hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and kerosene and demanded its immediate rollback.

Indian National Lok Dal led by former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala has also condemned the hike.
