"All preparations have been done to accord a warm welcome to Shah on his maiden visit to the state capital on Friday," PWD Minister Rajesh Munat told reporters here today.
A huge pandal has been erected on 1.5 lakh square feet area at the Government Science College ground where Shah will address thousands of party workers and office-bearers during the party membership campaign, he said.
"Shah will arrive at Swami Vivekananda airport, Raipur by a special plane and will directly leave for the venue. He will be welcomed with a mega motorbike rally and gathering of party workers at several places enroute to the ground," the minister said, adding that the BJP president will address the membership campaign convention there.
After that Shah will chair a state-level meeting of BJP at 'Kushabhau Thakre Ektam Parisar'--the new headquarter of BJP-- and leave for Delhi after overnight stay, he said.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up here ahead of Shah's visit.
Patrolling has been intensified to check any suspicious movement within and in bordering areas of the capital, a senior police official said.
Additional personnel will be deployed to manage the traffic on Friday keeping in view the large number of people coming here from across the state to attend the event, the official added.
