BJP practising politics of 'double standards' on Kashmir: JD(U)
NEW DELHI: JD(U) today accused BJP of practising politics of "double standards" on the Kashmir issue and dismissed tweets of Union Minister V K Singh saying that he was only following a "Common Minimum Programme" agreed upon by BJP and PDP.

JD(U) spokesperson K C Tyagi also noted that the earlier NDA government, led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had initiated a dialogue process with all political groups including the Hurriyat Conference.

Similarly the coalition government of BJP and PDP in the state has decided to facilitate and help initiate a sustained and meaningful dialogue with all internal stakeholders, he claimed, which will include all political groups irrespective of their ideological views and predictions and this dialogue seeks to build a broad-based consensus on resolution of all outstanding issues of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Minister of State (External Affairs) Gen (retd) V K Singh was, therefore, following the Common Minimum Programme agreed to by the BJP and PDP. There was no reason whatsoever for his suggested discomfiture in attending a programme in the Pakistan High Commission, where Hurriyat leaders were also present.

"JD(U) expresses its surprises at not only the clauses stated within the progamme agreed upon but also at how the BJP acts being appalled at carrying out what itself agreed upon," he said.
