BJP politicising Uttarakhand tragedy: Ashok Gehlot

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today lashed out at BJP leaders for trying to politicise the natural calamity in Uttarakhand.

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today lashed out at BJP leaders for trying to politicise the natural calamity in Uttarakhand.

Addressing a public meeting in Bikaner district as part of the Congress Sandesh Yatra, Gehlot said that his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi had spent two hours in Uttarakhand during which he was busy promoting himself instead of understanding the pain of the victims.

Gehlot also lashed out at former Rajasthan CM and state BJP president Vasundhara Raje for not bothering to visit the crisis-hit Uttarakhand.

Gehlot pointed out that he had spent for four days in Uttarakhand to supervise relief works carried out by his government there.

He said that 494 persons from Rajasthan are still missing in Uttarakhand.

People from Rajasthan have so far contributed between Rs 35-40 crore for relief works, the CM added.
