KOLKATA: A three-member BJP parliamentary team will visit Dhulagarh in Bengal's Howrah district on Saturday to gather information about communal clashes which took place in the area early this week.

Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh told ET on Friday that three MPs--Jagadambika Pal, Satyapal Singh and Roopa Ganguly will visit Dhulagarh on Saturday and gather information about the recent communal clashes which took place in the area recently. The team will subit a report to the Union home ministry after returning to Delhi.

Ghosh also informed that he will join the team and meet people from different section of the society in the area to get a proper picture about the recent clashes. "We are very much concerned about increasing number of communal clashes in different parts of Bengal. The state government is not taking adequate measures to stop such clashes. This parliamentary team will try to collect detailed report and submit the same to the Union government," Ghosh informed.

Communal clashes were reported from the districts of Howrah, Hooghly and some pockets of north Bengal. According to BJP sources, the state administration is playing a partial role in handling such incidents and trying to protect a particular community to help the ruling party to serve their narrow political interests. "The state government and the ruling party in our state are much more interested to protect political interests of Trinamool Congress rather than doing justice to the people of the state. Such things can't take place for long and our parliamentary team will submit a detailed report to the Centre. We will also go for a state-wide campaign against the state government's partial attitude," said a senior BJP leader.
