The BJP has formed a 14-member committee to manage its campaign and coordinate with state units and party allies during the presidential election.

The committee was announced on Friday, with Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat as the convenor and party general secretaries CT Ravi and Vinod Tawde as co-convenors along with 11 other members of the committee. The committee has five Union ministers as members - G Kishan Reddy, Ashwini Vaishnav, Arjun Meghwal, Sarbanand Sonowal and Bharti Pawar.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chug is also part of the committee. In the first meeting on Sunday, the leaders will be assigned state duties and accordingly they will start meeting party leaders, MLAs and alliance partners, said BJP functionaries. The new committee has leaders from across the country and they will be assigned states where they have worked earlier.
