BJP not to swap seats with SAD for Lok Sabha polls
BJP today denied that it would swap some seats with its ally Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab for upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Kamal Sharma, president of Punjab Congress, made it clear that BJP would put up its candidates for the Amritsar, Hoshiarpur (Reserve) and Gurdaspur constituencies out of 13 constituencies in the state in the upcoming polls.
In the remaining ten constituencies of the state, it would extend support to the alliance partner SAD, he said.
Sharma said the core committee of the state BJP would meet in Amritsar tomorrow.
Three separate meetings of party workers and leaders would also be held in Amritsar, Pathankot and Hoshiarpur in the next two days, he said.
All these meetings would be presided over by Ram Lal, national organising secretary of the party, he said.
Opinions of the participants would be sought in these meetings about the suitability of likely candidates, he said.
