BJP neither disappointed nor dejected: Kalraj Mishra on bypoll results
LUCKNOW: Union Minister for Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra today said though the byelection results were not as per BJP's expectation, the party was "neither disappointed nor dejected".

"The results of by-elections were not as per our expectations, but it is wrong to say that the party is disappointed or dejected. This time we have lost, but will win in future," Mishra told reporters here.

He said there had been something or the other shortcomings that the party's defeat. A three-member campaign committee was constituted by the party for by-elections, of which Kalraj, MP Adityanath and state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai were star campaigners.

Of the 11 assembly seats for which by-polls were held in Uttar Pradesh, BJP won only three seats. The party had won all the 11 seats in last assembly elections.

When asked about the reasons behind BJP's dismal performance in the recently concluded by-elections and whether there were voices within the organisation to activate party MP Varun Gandhi in UP, Kalraj said he was not aware of the fact.

On being asked whether Modi magic was over only in 100 days, Kalraj said, "There is nothing like this. This could be your assessment as 100 days is no standard. Whatever the Modi government has done so far is not only being praised in the country, but across the world."
