BJP names 16 candidates for Lok Sabha polls

The BJP on Wednesday declared the names of 16 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, taking the total number of seats covered as part of the exercise so far to 62.

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Wednesday declared the names of 16 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, taking the total number of seats covered as part of the exercise so far to 62.

The party���s CEC cleared the names of 12 more candidates from the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh. With this, a total of 22 candidates have received the party���s green signal to enter the electoral fray from UP.

The candidates who received the nod on Wednesday included sitting MLA and former UP assembly speaker Hukum Singh Gurjar (Kairana), former MLA Sarvesh Singh (Moradabad), Mr Aridaman Singh (Fatehpur Sikri), noted devotional singer Tripti Sakya (Mainpuri), Ms Krishna Raj (Shahjahanpur-SC), Mr Ajay Mishra Reni (Khiri), Mr Anil Bhargava (Misrikh-SC), Mr Ranjan Choudhary Pasi (Mohanlalganj-SC), Ms Mithilesh Aggarwal (Farrukhabad), Mr Subrat Pathak (Kannauj), Mr Gautam Choudhary (Kaushambi-SC) and Mr Raghuvar Dayal Verma (Ferozabad). Three constituencies from Kerala (Chalakudy, Mavelikara and Attingal) and the lone seat from Daman and Diu also figured in the latest list.
