BJP must come clean on 'Hindu terror': Digvijay
Congress asked BJP to spell out their stand on hindu terrorists.
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, targeted by the saffron camp for maintaining, Hindu terrorism was as dangerous as Islamic jihadi terrorism on Friday said the arrest of a sadhvi belonging to the Hindu Jagaran Manch for the Malegaon blast has vindicated his stand as the incident had thoroughly exposed the true face of the RSS-Bajrang Dal-ABVP combine.
The message is now loud and clear. The BJP and Mr Advani, who talk about the need for a stronger law for an all-out fight against terrorism, should first acknowledge that Muslim and Hindu terrorists are equally dangerous and should be fought alike.
When I said this, in the past, the BJP and RSS attacked me. Now the arrest of these Hindu fundamentalists have vindicated my position and showed to the world the real face of the RSS-Bajrang Dal-ABVP. I now ask the BJP leadership to come clean on their links with these outfits and their activities, Mr Digvijay Singh told ET from Kanpur.
Mr Singh said during the Gujarat election campaign, the BJP filed a petition against him with the Election Commission for talking about the dangers of Hindu terrorism. A day after some Sangh Parivar member, including BJP general secretary Vinay Katiyar termed the detention of Hindu extremists as a conspiracy by the non-BJP forces for dragging the name of nationalist organisations in the terror camp, and sought a CBI probe into the episode, there was glee in the Congress camp.
Congress leaders point to the attitude of Katiyar & Co in the context of the BJPs all-out attack on those who demanded a judicial inquiry into the recent Jamia Nagar encounter. The BJP camp had termed those who questioned the authenticity of the Jamia encounter as Muslim appeasers and traitors in the war against terrorism.
I urge the Maharashtra state government and the UPA regime at the Centre to make use of the findings of the anti-terrorists squad in the Malegaon and Modasa blasts and take the inquiry into its logical conclusions. The Congress is clear that the fight against terrorism should target both Hindu terrorists and Muslim terrorists without casting aspersions on the communities.
We would like to know the stand of Mr Advani and his party on this issue, the AICC general secretary said.
Insisting that one should not overlook the danger of Hindu terror outfits, Mr Singh, said: The role of Hindu fundamentalists in the Malegaon and Modasa blasts is just one example.
Prior to this, members of these Hindu fundamentalist outfits were killed while manufacturing bombs in Kanpur. Indore has become the epicentre of Hindu terror organisations. Investigation into the Samjhauta Express blast also showed bombs were brought from Indore.
