Mumbai: BJP should apologise for allegations hurled against the Mumbai Police over the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh has said. He queried if BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis would campaign for former DGP Gupteshwar Pandey, instrumental in raking up the case in Bihar, in the forthcoming assembly polls.

Deshmukh said that the AIIMS report on the actor’s death had proven that the BJP had manufactured a controversy to defame the Mumbai Police and Maharashtra with an eye on the Bihar polls. “The AIIMS report has shown that the Mumbai Police was right in its investigations. When we were fighting Covid-19, they tried to defame us. Fadnavis raised doubts on the Mumbai Police’s investigations. I want to ask him if he would campaign for former Bihar DGP,” Deshmukh said in Mumbai on Tuesday.
