BJP MP B Sriramulu served notice by Andhra Pradesh police for questioning

Sriramulu was served a notice by Ananthpur police to appear before them within eight days in connection with alleged purchase of illegal weapons in that state.

BALLARI (KTK): BJP MP B Sriramulu was today served a notice by Ananthpur police of Andhra Pradesh to appear before them within eight days in connection with alleged purchase of illegal weapons in that state.

A police team from Threetown in Ananthpur, where the case had been registered against the MP, met Sriramulu at his residence here and questioned him for about half an hour and served the notice, police said.

The action came on the basis of a statement by four persons from Ballari, who were arrested on August 12, linking the name of Sriramulu to the illegal purchase of four pistols which were seized from them by Ananthpur police.

Earlier, Sriramulu dismissed the claims of the four arrested persons and said he did not even know them.

He said he was shocked that a case had been registered against him by Ananthpur police.

Sriramulu alleged that it was part of attempts by his rivals to "finish" him off politically.
