BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman asked to go for 14 day quarantine after he visited a covid care center: Deputy Commissioner

On Sunday Barman had visited a covid care center. Recently allegations of violation of the covid-19 protocol was labelled against the MLA for hosting dinner at his official residence.

It is alleged that around 80 people attended the dinner hosted by Sudip Ray Barman in the MLA hostel on Sunday.
GUWAHATI: Following the visit of former minister and BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman's to a covid care centre, the deputy commissioner West Tripura district has asked him to go for 14 day quarterine.

Based on CCTV footage the deputy commissioner order stated that his entry was unauthorized and there he has to go for seven days Institutional and seven days home quarantine.

On Sunday Barman had visited a covid care center. Recently allegations of violation of the covid-19 protocol was labelled against the MLA for hosting dinner at his official residence.


It is alleged that around 80 people attended the dinner hosted by Sudip Ray Barman in the MLA hostel on Sunday.

Barman who was former health minister however denied the allegation. He said that the allegations were baseless. Along with security personnel the number of people was not more than 20 and all were from MLA hostel. No one came from outside.

Barman, was removed from the council of ministry in May last year.
