MUZAFFARNAGAR: BJP MLA Sangit Som appeared in a local court here in connection with a case of violation of prohibitory orders during a protest in 2009.

Chief Judicial Magistrate K P Singh had issued a warrant against Som asking him to appear in the case, in which three other Samajwadi Party members are involved.

Som, who is also accused in riots cases here, appeared before the court yesterday, for his alleged involvement in blocking roads in Civil Line area while protesting against deteriorating law and order situation during the BSP rule in the state four years ago.

Som was a Samajwadi Party member in 2009. A case was then registered against four SP members including Som under various sections of the IPC.
