BJP MLA Sangeet Som, arrested in connection with Muzaffarnagar violence, was today denied bail by a local court.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: BJP MLA Sangeet Som, arrested in connection with Muzaffarnagar violence, was today denied bail by a local court.

Chief Judicial Magistrate K P Singh rejected the bail plea of Som, who was arrested on Saturday for his alleged role in uploading of a fake video that is said to have incited communal tension in Muzaffarnagar.

The MLA from Sardhana is currently in judicial remand. The bail plea of another BJP MLA Suresh Rana from Thana Bhawan will be heard tomorrow.

Som, Rana and BSP MLA from Charthawal Noor Saleem have been arrested in connection with the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar district and surrounding areas that left 48 people dead and displaced thousands of others.
