BJP MLA Rameshwar Chaurasia voices concern over law and order in Bihar
Voicing concern over "deteriorating" law & order situation in Bihar, an MLA of ruling NDA ally BJP said the people have started fearing return of "jungle raj" in the state.
"A section of people have become cynical about the deteriorating law and order situation and they have started fearing return of jungle raj," five-time BJP MLA Rameshwar Chaurasia said.
"Public confidence has been shaken after violence and arson in several districts of late, and even Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had to face the wrath of the protesters during his Adhikar Yatra," he said, urging Chief Minister Kumar to defer the remainder of his 'Adhikar Yatra' for sometime.
He also urged the chief minister to concentrate on toning up the law and order situation to restore confidence of the people ahead of the festive season.
"The incidents of rioting in Nawada, Gaya, Khagaria and Madhubani districts over the past two weeks have served a grim reminder to the state government to tone up the law and order situation and the onus was on the chief minister to seize the initiative and restore public confidence in his government by taking remedial measures," Chaurasia, a five-time MLA from Nokha assembly seat, said.
