Kolkata: BJP Asansol MLA Agnimitra Paul has suffered a "mild brain" stroke hours after she returned from the state assembly on Thursday where she was seen vociferously protesting during the House proceedings. BJP chief whip Shankar Ghosh and one of the marshals on duty have also been hospitalised. Paul (52) was rushed to a private hospital after she fell ill. Doctors have said her condition is stable now but she is kept under observation, sources told ET.

She had come to the assembly on September 1, the first day of the special session, and delivered her speech on Thursday.
