As part of the celebrations to mark eight years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, Union ministers and national office-bearers will spread out across the country as part of a fortnight-long programme starting May 30 to meet beneficiaries of various welfare schemes to know their views and gather feedback.

The issue was discussed at the BJP national office-bearers' meeting here. The party will organise various laabhartis' (beneficiaries) sammelans where those who have gained from a particular welfare scheme will be identified and invited to attend. A Union minister or national office-bearer will meet them. Door-to-door and district level programmes will also be organised.

Asked about the programme, BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde said the beneficiaries of the PM-Kisan Samman, Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat and the like will gather at these sammelans (meetings) where the minister or party leader will collect feedback on the performance of these schemes.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined in his keynote address to the conclave that the government and BJP will strive to deliver these welfare schemes to each entitled beneficiary without any discrimination. Though this is a mammoth task, all efforts will be made and no roadblocks, confusion or false propaganda spread by the opposition playing politics should deter them.

Since Aadhaar is the basis for disseminating these welfare measures, it will be used to identify the beneficiaries. A senior BJP office-bearer said the Aadhaar card has the address and other details as well which will make this job easier.

"Free foodgrain distribution to 80 crore beneficiaries in the last few months serves as a ready data bank for this purpose. Similarly, we have details of those who got LPG cylinders through Ujjwala and the beneficiaries will be identified to reach out to them," the BJP leader said.
