BJP-LJP alliance in Bihar may bag 21-29 Lok Sabha seats: Opinion poll

NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress could win 23-29 seats in West Bengal, BJPled NDA 21-29 seats in Bihar, the Biju Janata Dal may win 10-16 seats in Odisha and Congress is likely to be largest party in Jharkhand and Assam in the Lok Sabha elections, a survey has predicted.

Though Narendra Modi’s stocks have fallen from last month in West Bengal, he continues to surpass chief minister Mamata Banerjee as the favourite choice for prime minister’s post.

His popularity has gone up in Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Assam, the survey by CNNIBN-Lokniti-CSDS claimed. 20,957 voters, between March 18-25 were interviewed for the survey.

In West Bengal, Trinamool would manage to win 23-29 seats by securing 38% of the votes while the Left Front will win 7 to 13 seats and 25% votes. Congress is likely to win in 4 to 7 constituencies and BJP and AAP will win one seat each, according to the survey.

In Bihar, alliance between BJP and LJP was predicted to get 21-29 seats. The survey also showed the alliance getting more upper caste votes than those of Dalits.
