BJP list for Nagaland polls to be out today

GUWAHATI: The solution before election campaign spearheaded by tribal groups and civil society organisations in Nagaland seems to fizzling out with the BJP declaring its decision to anounce its candidates on Saturday.

Ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF) is also preparing its list of candidates and is likely to contest 58 out of 60 assembly seats in the state.

Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organisations (CCNTHCO) bandh on Thursday had evoked mixed response.As many as 11 political parties, including BJP had resolved not to give party tickets or file nomination for the assembly elections.


A senior BJP leader, who do not want to be named told ET, “We will declare list of candidates by Saturday. We are finalising the number of seats we will be contesting.”
