AHMEDABAD: After the wash out of the monsoon session of parliament, BJP-led NDA is now all set to take the protest against Congress and Left parties to their homes.

According to union Minister of State for Power, Coal and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, MPs and Ministers from BJP-led NDA will now reach out to the people of 53 constituencies that had voted for Congress and left parties including 44 seats of Congress and 9 of the left and inform the voters as to how the opposition has tried to stall development.

Goyal was addressing the media here in Ahmedabad on Friday as a part of NDA’s counter offensive to the oppositions stalling parliament earlier.

Speaking to media, Goyal further said that the BJP workers will also reach out to people around Raksha Bandhan and spread awareness regarding various social security schemes initiated by Narendra Modi government.

Further between September 25, the birth centenary of BJP ideologue Pt. Deendayal Upadhay and October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, BJP workers would hold camps to inform people about the Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) set up by the Union Government.

Lashing out at the opposition for stalling the parliament during Monsoon Session, Goyal said that Congress has dashed the aspirations of people and insulted the parliament as it has not been able to digest its defeat in 2014 General election.

“Now it is clear that they wanted to stop the GST Bill as this was a constitutional bill,” Goyal said. “While we shall continue to work for development, but if this is the way things go on, the pace of development shall be hampered and we want to share our agony with the people,” he added.

On the issue of reservation Patel community has been agitating for in Gujarat, Goyal said it's a local issue and the state government will deal with it.

"We will like to develop ourselves to that stage that reservation becomes irrelevant. Till then, reservations will be given as per constitutional provisions," Goyal said.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill, which seeks to replace all indirect taxes with a uniform levy, has already been approved by the Lok Sabha, but could not be taken up in the Upper House because of opposition it faced from the Congress and the Left.
