The BJP central leadership has directed the Bengal leadership to undertake a state-wide campaign, going to the grassroots and informing people about Trinamool’s corruption and neutral nature of central agencies. Newly appointed central observer for Bengal Sunil Bansal and co-observer Amit Malviya were present at the ongoing three-day "Chintan" and training meeting in Kolkata.

Fighting the ruling Trinamool Congress’ political campaign that ED and CBI, the central leadership has asked the BJP leaders and workers in Bengal to hit the roads against corruption and wrongdoings of Trinamool Congress and also inform people about the impartial nature of the central agencies and that they don’t work under any political influence, BJP sources told ET.

“We are against Trinamool’s misrule, wrong doings, welfare scheme-dependent politics and political mud-slinging. We will not use derogatory language against the Chief Minister and his relatives. It is not part of our culture,” Shamik Bhattacharya, BJP chief spokesperson, said today.

“The BJP leadership has said that the state leadership should make people understand that there is no political connection between BJP and the central agencies. The central leadership has also directed the BJP Bengal unit to go all-out against Trinamool’s corruption related issues in Bengal,” people in the know told ET. It is pertinent to mention that Trinamool Supremo has been vocal about BJP politically misusing ED-CBI and other central agencies against non-BJP states.

The central leadership has directed Bengal BJP to campaign in various districts on these issues at the grassroot level. While Trinamool has been vocal about the Centre misusing ED-CBI, the central leadership has directed Bengal BJP to undertake a state-wide campaign and go to people at the grassroot, informing them there is no political connection between agencies and the central agencies work independently, sources said.
