BJP leaders await docs' nod to airlift ailing MP

BJP leaders are awaiting a green signal from doctors at a hospital here to airlift party MP Mahesh Kanodia to Delhi for tomorrow's trust vote in Lok Sabha.

MUMBAI: BJP leaders are awaiting a green signal from doctors at a hospital here to airlift party MP Mahesh Kanodia to Delhi for tomorrow's trust vote in Lok Sabha.

Kanodia, MP from Patan, Gujarat, underwent an open heart surgery at the Asian Heart Institute on July 14 and another one today in order to remove water from his lungs.

"Kanodia is under observation after the surgery and if doctors permit him to be flown to Delhi, we have made all arrangements," BJP MLC Vinod Tawade told media. BJP leaders are hoping that doctors would permit him to be flown to Delhi, he said.

"We are waiting for the medical reports, likely by this evening. If doctors allow us to fly him to Delhi, he will surely go," Kanodia's brother said.
