BJP lauds PM Modi on evacuation of Indians from Yemen
NEW DELHI: BJP today lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the central government's success in evacuating about 1,800 Indians from strife-torn Yemen and said that India is emerging as a key power on the world map under his leadership.

"Government has been successful in evacuating 1800 Indians trapped in Yemen. Most of those returning safely from Yemen belong to states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Delhi, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.

"Whenever any crisis came on Indians living anywhere in the world, the prime minister took care of it and ensured that Indian citizens return safely," party national secretary Shrikant Sharma said in a statement.

Sharma said that in the last ten months, Modi government had evacuated 1,000 students from Ukraine and 7,000 Indians from Iraq including nurses. Similarly he ensured the safe return of 3,000 Indians, who were trapped in Syria.

With yesterday's evacuation, India has so far taken out 1,800 of its citizens from Yemen.

"Indians living in foreign countries now have confidence that there is a government in their country, which is concerned about them and is ready to support them when needed. India is emerging as a key power on the world map under Modi's leadership," Sharma said.
