BJP is committed to inclusive growth: Ravishankar Prasad

PATNA: Seeking to woo Muslim voters ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, BJP today said it was committed to inclusive development of all communities if NDA came to power at the Centre.

"We are committed to inclusive development for all, including the Hindus, Muslims and other communities if the NDA comes to power at the Centre," Deputy Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ravishankar Prasad said at a "Chai per charcha" programme (discussion over tea) at Kargil Chowk here.

Prasad said the NDA government, if elected to power, would usher in a development process that would benefit all communities, including Muslims.

"Let the people rest assured that we will cater to development and welfare of all," the senior BJP leader said, adding that terrorism would be dealt in a stern matter.

Party's state unit chief Mangal Pandey echoed Prasad's view and said the development model that the Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had been harping on has benefited all communities in that state and his party would adopt identical development process at the national level if voted to power at the Centre.

Replying to a question on BJP's stand on the special status demand of Bihar, Pandey said the NDA would take all necessary steps to tide over economic backwardness of the state.

Slamming Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for spewing venom at Modi and BJP after parting ways with the NDA last year, Pandey said the Gujarat Chief Minister was concerned with economic backwardness of Bihar and other states and if given an opportunity he would do all he could to bring these states on track of development.
