NEW DELHI: BJP today organised a ' NaMo Tea Party' which saw party leaders holding an interactive session with the people in a bid to popularise the message and aims of its Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi.

"With the tea party, an interactive initiative has been taken to promote Modi as the PM candidate and bring about constructive change," said a BJP official.

The event, organised at Safdarjung Club, was attended by senior leader Balbir Punj, Gopal Kotwala, Manoj Arora and Pankaj Wadhawan, among others.

" Congress's economic policies have put the country in disarray. Bringing Modiji to the Centre is the need of the hour," Punj told the gathering.

Among the points of discussion at the meet was the "poor" economic policies of the UPA government, BJP sources said.

BJP's move to hold interactions with people at tea stalls can be viewed against the backdrop of Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar's "tea vendor" jibe at Gujarat Chief Minister Modi.
