BJP government only concerned about affluent class: Samajwadi Party
LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party today alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was showing concern only for the affluent class like the previous UPA government.

"The central government has broken the trust of the people by increasing the prices of many essential commodities before the budget, disturbing the economy of thousands of households," SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said in a release.

Chaudhary said the recent announcements made by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley have proved that this government, like the previous Congress-led UPA government, is only concerned about safeguarding the interests of the affluent class.

Criticising the meagre Rs 50 hike in minimum support price of paddy, he said that it would not benefit the farmers as the rates of all things required for agriculture like diesel, fertiliser, seeds and power had gone up.

He also urged the central government to review its decision to ensure that farmers get the right price for their produce.
