BJP government making Indian citizens refugee for their vote bank politics: Mamata on NRC in Assam
Mamata Banerjee said that she would seek appointment from union home minister Rajnath Singh and appeal to him to reconsider the decision.

“ BJP, in its effort to play election politics isolated humanity. This is nothing but political isolation. They have identified the voters who would not vote for BJP and that is why they isolated them. How can a government make its own people stateless?” asked Banerjee who left for Delhi on Monday on a three day trip.
Stressing that the central government has not only deprived Muslims but Hindus as well. “ This is a deliberate attempt to implement Bengali Khedao programme. And not only Bengalis , they are also driving out Biharis and people from other states,” she added.
Addressing the media at the state secretariat, Banerjee presented some documents of people whose names were not there in the list. “ I have list of people who are Bengali Hindus and they have adhaar card and passport as well.
So, how these people are not Indians now? I know the process was initiated following the order of SC, but did the central or Assam government plead? We opposed to it, but we were alone. Both these governments remained silent spectator,” she said.
