BJP government in MP comes under fire from Congress leaders
Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh hit out at the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh and blamed it for prevailing corruption in the state.
Corruption has increased in the state ever since BJP came to power in 2003. Things have gone from bad to worse on various fronts in the last 10 years, the former Chief Minister said, addressing a public meeting here in Jhabua district.
The state government had not yet given 'pattas' (documents) to tribals living on forest land although the Centre had sent directive in this regard long ago, he alleged.
Leader of Opposition in Assembly Ajay Singh took swipe at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over his "Jan Aashirwad Yatra".
Chouhan embarked on the state-wide yatra in late July, seeking people's blessings for his government, and it came just months ahead of the Assembly election.
"Instead of aashirwad (blessings), the Chief Minister should seek forgiveness from people for making their life miserable," Ajay said.
Congress general secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Prakash accused BJP of trying to use religion to grab power both in the poll-bound states and at the Centre.
