BJP has expelled Uttarakhand forest minister Harak Singh Rawat from the party for six years on the grounds of indiscipline on Sunday evening. BJP's state unit issued a press release in this regard.

Sources said chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has removed him from the cabinet. Sources said Harak was demanding three tickets for his relatives including his daughter-in -law. "He also wanted to contest from a new seat," a source in BJP said. Harak currently represents the Kotdwar seat of the state. According to the source, Harak had demanded a ticket from the BJP leadership to field his daughter-in-law from the Lansdowne seat. Harak was called to Delhi on Sunday to meet the BJP leadership.

He may join the Congress on Monday.
