BJP expelled Jaswant at right time, says senior party leader

Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Sunderlal Patwa said that the party had expelled Jaswant Singh at the right time.

BHOPAL: Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Sunderlal Patwa on Saturday said that the party had expelled Jaswant Singh at the right time.

The decision to expel Singh had been taken at the right time as he had outlived his utility in the party, Patwa told reporters at BJP office here.

Singh had now become a matter of history for BJP and there was no need for him to talk about the party, he said.

Writing book is not a politician's job, he said. Although there might be some rumblings within the party at the highest level, they will fail to have any impact on it. Because leaders do not matter much, but workers play a key role in the party, he said.
"Only a handful of BJP leaders indulged in issuing statements which may not be good for the party...Sometime these leaders slipped their tongue and this cause confusion," he said.
