BJP-DMDK alliance possible: L Ganesan

UDHAGAMANDALAM: Senior BJP leader L Ganesan today said there were prospects for an alliance between the party and actor-turned politician Vijaykanth's DMDK in Tamil Nadu for the next Lok Sabha elections.

Since both his party and DMDK shared similar stand on various issues, there was possibility of them coming together for the Lok Sabha elections, he told reporters here.

Ganesan, party's national council member, said BJP had been reinvigorated in the state following Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's elevation as election campaign chief.

On the controversial Sethusamudram project, he said the party had welcomed it, but wanted to ensure the Ram Sethu was protected.

Ganesan, a former Taml Nadu unit party president, also opposed the proposal to disivest five per cent share of NLC to private parties.
