BJP demands dissolution of Jharkhand Assembly
Fresh from its impressive victory in the Lok Sabha polls in this state, the BJP on Sunday demanded dissolution of Jharkhand Assembly, which is under suspended animation, and sought fresh round of Assembly polls.
"Our first priority will be to build up pressure against the continued President's rule and dissolution of the state assembly, which is under suspended animation," BJP Jharkhand unit president Raghuvar Das said here today.
Blaming the Congress, the RJD and the JMM for political instability in Jharkhand, Das said the BJP would not allow these parties "to continue to make Jharkhand a laboratory to carry out political experiment, stalling developmental work."
"I do not see any genuine reason for keeping the state assembly under suspended animation," Das said adding that the BJP would now mount pressure on the Governor to dissolve the state assembly to pave the way for fresh election.
"BJP has been strongly advocating for fresh elections ever since the fall of two UPA governments in the state as elections are the only option left in Jharkhand to provide a stable government," Das said.
Expressing satisfaction over the BJP's performance in the state in comparison to its single seat win in 2004, Das however said the party expected to win over 10 seats.
