BJP demands details of public money spent on Saifai Mahotsav

LUCKNOW: The BJP today sought from the Uttar Pradesh government the details of public money spent on the just concluded ' Saifai Mahotsav' held at Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's native village.

"Eight chartered flights brought film personalities and they put up a performance at the grand enclosure on the last day yesterday, and they were also paid handsome fees...the people of the state have a right to know how much of their money has been spent on such programme there," BJP spokesman Manoj Misra said.

Saifai Mahotsav is an annual jamboree organised at SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's village. It concluded yesterday.

"The people in the government had been enjoying themselves for days on the hard-earned money of the common man while the poor and helpless people had been made to suffer on account of inadequate arrangements to deal with the chill," he added.
