JAIPUR: BJP today alleged that Rajasthan Congress leader Mumtaz Masih posted a video on Facebook showing that Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, drew inspiration from RSS ideology and asked the Election Commission to take action against him.

The party in a statement here alleged that state poll campaign committee chief Masih allegedly posted on his Facebook profile a video showing an old man telling his grand daughter that Godse was inspired by RSS ideology.

"Action should be taken against Masih for linking RSS with the killing of Mahatma Gandhi in the video. Congress should apologise for levelling baseless and false allegations," BJP state vice-president Onkar Singh Lakhawat said in a statement.

"Election commission should take action against Masih for misleading people by posting such videos," he said.

Masih could not be contacted for comments.
