BJP demand removal of BJD MP Ramachandra Hansda

BARIPADA: BJP workers staged a demonstration here today demanding removal of BJD MP Ramachandra Hansda from Lok Sabha and his arrest in the wake of CBI raid on his house recently in connection with the ponzi scheme scam.

The demonstrators submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through district collector Rajesh Pravakar Patil in support of their demand.

They alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was not initiating any action against Hansda, who represents Mayurbhanj in Parliament, in the scam.

A procession was also taken out by BJP supporters and workers, who shouted slogans against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Hansda. The demonstrators were led by the party's district president Krushna Chandra Mohapatra and state executive member Raj Kishore Das.

CBI had conducted simultaneous raids in his office and residence in Mayurbhanj last month in connection with chit fund scam in Odisha.
