New Delhi: BJP on Sunday deployed its top guns to counter INDIA bloc's rally, with party chief Nitin Nabin, Union ministers and senior leaders leading a series of yatras across the country under the banner 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' (Save Democracy, End Anarchy).

While Nabin led a march in Haryana's Rohtak, accompanied by Union minister and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary, a prominent Jat leader from western UP, senior party leader Dharmendra Pradhan spearheaded a yatra in Faridabad.

In Delhi, Union minister Hardeep Puri, accompanied by CM Rekha Gupta, led a march from Hari Nagar to protest the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. BJP accused Congress of hurting Sikh sentiments by choosing November 1, the anniversary of the violence, for its rally. In Mumbai, Union minister Bhupender Yadav led a similar march alongside Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and BJP ally, Shiv Sena chief and deputy CM, Eknath Shinde.

The marches were followed by a sharp attack from BJP headquarters, where party spokesman Sambit Patra accused Rahul Gandhi and Congress leadership of pursuing personal political interests at the cost of democratic institutions. Playing visuals that he claimed showed vacant spaces and empty chairs at the rally, Patra questioned Congress' claim of mobilising 10 lakh people. "Forty per cent of the Ramlila Maidan was vacant. Out of 28,000 chairs, around 5,000-7,000 were empty at 3:30-4 PM. This is the reality behind Congress' claim of 10 lakh attendees," he said.

Patra said: "Rahul Gandhi said 2024 elections were illegal. Gyanesh Kumar was not even there in 2024. He became CEC in 2025. If 2024 elections were illegal, then Rahul Gandhi is also an illegal Leader of Opposition and all his MPs are illegal."
