LUCKNOW: Apparently shocked by its dismal performance in the last year's Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is busy making "micro level planning" in an attempt to reach the voters at booth level to "win at least 30 to 35 seats" from the state in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Micro level planning which the party terms as "Apna Door Scheme" (ADS) envisages formation of 'clusters' comprising five polling booths each under a party cadre, state BJP election management in-charge and senior party leader Shyam Nandan Singh said.

Singh said that there were over 1.16 Lakh polling booths in the state and over 23 thousand party cadre had been given the charge of clusters.

"A meeting of the cluster in-charges will be held later this month in which they will be apprised of the tasks ahead," he said.

In the second phase of the plan, the party intends to appoint booth level conveners, Singh said, adding a meeting of the conveners would also be organised at divisional levels next month.

The key aspect of the scheme was the selection of 20 people for every booth to be entrusted with the job of mobilising support for the party candidates in the Lok Sabha polls from their respective areas, Singh said.
