BJP, Congress candidates file nominations for Goa Lok Sabha polls

The BJP and Congress candidates today filed their nominations in both North and South Goa constituencies for the April 12 Lok Sabha elections.

PANAJI: The BJP and Congress candidates today filed their nominations in both North and South Goa constituencies for the April 12 Lok Sabha elections.

Sripad Naik, the sitting MP from North Goa, filed his papers before the returning officer this morning.

He was accompanied by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and other state leaders.

Naik arrived at the collectorate office in the city amidst sloganeering by the party workers.

Congress candidate Ravi Naik also filed his nomination for the North Goa constituency.

In South Goa, BJP's Narendra Sawaikar filed his nomination papers in the afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Congress' Aleix Reginald Lourenco also filed his nomination.
