BJP celebrates Draupadi Murmu's win across nation

BJP began celebrations across the country as soon as it was officially announced that Droupadi Murmu had won more than 50% of the total votes. In Delhi, as Murmu too an unassaible lead, BJP president JP Nadda reached the party office with presidential election convenor Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and co-convenors Vinod Tawde and CT Ravi and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan. All seven Delhi BJP MPs too were present in the office. Nadda led the 'Abhinandan Yatra' from the Delhi BJP office to Murmu's residence.

Nadda said for a woman from tribal background to reach the post of the President is a "golden moment" for the country and expressed confidence that her competence and experience in administrative and social works will benefit the country immensely.

Later, Nadda accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Murmu's home where they congratulated her on being elected as the new President.


Celebrations also took place at other state BJP offices.

In Lucknow, UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath, deputy CMs Keshav Maurya and Brajesh Pathak congratulated Murmu for becoming the 15th President of the nations.

In Madhya Pradesh, party leaders, including state BJP president VD Sharma, participated in celebrations at Bhopal and in tribal areas.

In Karnataka, BJP office bearers and workers gathered at state BJP office in Bengaluru to celebrate Murmu's victory.

In NDA-ruled Bihar, deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad and other party leaders participated in the celebration. Deputy CM Renu Devi celebrated at her residence.

Celebrations were also reported from tribal areas across states which were led by local BJP MLAs.
