BJP careful on distributing tickets after trust vote: Joshi
After some of its party MPs cross voted and remained absent in the July 22 trust vote against UPA government, BJP has decided to adopt stringent screening measures while issuing tickets, senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Saturday said.

INDORE: After some of its party MPs cross voted and remained absent in the July 22 trust vote against UPA government, BJP has decided to adopt stringent screening measures while issuing tickets, senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Saturday said.
"During the voting on the motion, some party MPs were absent while some voted against the party whip. Though party has immediately shown them the door, BJP is analysing as to why they betrayed the party and what steps should be taken to avoid repetition of such a practice," he told reporters here.
All senior party leaders are of the view that an individual's character should be fully ascertained before deciding his/her candidature, he said.
The former Union Minister declined to comment on the cash-for-votes issue saying a probe was on and it would not be appropriate to comment.
Asked about BJS chief Uma Bharti's CD on the issue, Joshi called it "fake".
He refused to comment on party leader Sushma Swaraj's comments on the recent blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad saying "it was her personal opinion".
