BJP blames Congress for political instability in Jharkhand

Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday held the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre responsible for the political instability in Jharkhand and demanded an immediate assembly election there.

RAIPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday held the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre responsible for the political instability in Jharkhand and demanded an immediate assembly election there.

BJP national spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here that Congress was responsible for the political instability in the state and its efforts to make Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Shibu Soren the Chief Minister of the state was part of a deal between it and the JMM.

The senior BJP leader, also the party in-charge for Chhattisgarh elections, alleged, "most corrupt practices were adopted to save the Manmohan government by the Congress."

Prasad also said BJP wanted an immediate election in Jharkhand and expressed confidence that his party would form the government there.
