BJP banks on brand 'Modi' to counter anti-incumbency after assessing ground situation
Bihar BJP’s internal survey suggests that the anti-incumbency against chief minister Nitish Kumar is high at the ground level. On the other hand, the brand Modi is shining.

“We found out that there is a sense of anger against Nitish Kumar on the ground. People are unhappy over corruption in lower level governance, poor delivery of government schemes and the handling of Covid-19 and flood situation,” a senior state BJP leader told ET. “On the other hand, the same people are extremely happy with PM Narendra Modi’s work for different sections of the society, especially the help for the poor offered during Covid-19 pandemic.” The feedback was first given to BJP Bihar in-charge Bhupender Yadav and Bihar deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi.
The findings were also presented before national general secretary BL Santosh on Thursday during the meeting of party leaders in Patna.
However it doesn’t mean that party is moving away from the alliance. “We are united in NDA and we will fight together,” Devendra Fadnavis, in-charge of Bihar elections told media persons on Friday.
Party is planning to keep the focus of the campaign on delivery track record and work done by PM Modi. PM has been announcing several projects for Bihar in recent times. Going forward he would launch projects worth several thousand crores in the state. On the lines of Modi’s call for Atma Nirbhar Bharat, BJP has made Atma Nirbhar Bihar as their campaign slogan.
“On Saturday our national president JP Nadda would be addressing from Patna party office in the next five years of Bihar,” Sanjay Jaiswal, Bihar BJP president told ET. “He would present a glimpse of future Bihar and how we plan to make an Atma Nirbhar Bihar.”
