BJP asks Assam MLAs to hardsell government’s achievements in past year
After the two-day meeting of the BJP’s state executive, which concluded on Sunday, the party has asked booth committees to hold a meeting on the first Sunday of every month.

“Each MLA will have to prepare at least 20,000 copies and distribute them among the people. The MLAs will have to give details to the people about the work done by various government agencies,” said Ranjeet Kumar Das, president of the BJP’s Assam unit.
This comes as the party has started preparations for the upcoming panchayat polls and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
After the two-day meeting of the BJP’s state executive, which concluded on Sunday, the party has asked booth committees to hold a meeting on the first Sunday of every month, failing which the committee will be dissolved and reconstituted.
BJP plans to launch a 15-day campaign across the state where its workers will fan out and interact with the people.
During the interaction, the workers will share details of the different flagship schemes of the government, particularly the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, a health insurance scheme which provides coverage against five critical diseases.
The party has decided to strengthen its presence and organisational set-up in areas where it does not have MLAs at present. In these areas, the party plans to organise meetings with the citizens and other activities to reach out to the people.
