BJP appoints Sanjay Bhatia as Rajasthan in-charge; Kavita Patidar, Kuljeet Chahal named co-in-charges

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday appointed Sanjay Bhatia as its in-charge for Rajasthan as part of a fresh round of organisational appointments across states and Union Territories.

Kavita Patidar and Kuljeet Chahal have been appointed as co-in-charges for Rajasthan, according to a party statement issued on September 23.

The appointments were made by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and will come into effect immediately.


The Rajasthan appointments are part of a wider organisational exercise covering 36 states and Union Territories, with the BJP naming in-charges and, in several cases, co-in-charges for its state units.

Among the other appointments, Baijayant Jay Panda has been named in-charge of Maharashtra, with Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat as co-in-charges.

Sunil Bansal has been appointed in-charge of both Telangana and West Bengal. Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma have been named co-in-charges for Telangana, while Lal Singh Arya, Rajendra Singh and Pinky Kushwaha will serve as co-in-charges for West Bengal.

For Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has appointed Vinod Tawde as in-charge, with Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Pradeep Verma and Anant Ojha as co-in-charges. Ram Madhav has been given charge of Uttarakhand, assisted by Arvind Menon and Bansuri Swaraj.

The party has also appointed Smriti Irani as in-charge of Chhattisgarh and Haryana.
