BJP appoints new office-bearers for Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Ahead of the civic polls in Chhattisgarh scheduled by the year end, the ruling BJP today formed its new state working unit with five vice presidents, three general secretaries, a general secretary and seven secretaries.

BJP state unit chief and former Assembly Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik announced his new team, comprising around 150 members, including MLAs and MPs of the state.

Former Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu, former Higher Education Minister Hemchand Yadav, incumbent MP and former Forest Minister Vikram Usendi and senior party leaders - Girdhar Gupta and Major Anil Singh were anointed as Vice Presidents, while MLA Shivratan Sharma, Bhupendra Sawanni and Krishna Kumar Rai have been made general secretaries.

Senior leaders - Rampratap Singh and Pawan Sai were made state general secretary (organisation) and state joint general secretary (organisation) respectively.

Former MLA Leelaram Bhojwani has been given the charge of Treasurer, while Chhagan Lal Mundra, Shriniwas Rao Maddi, Nirmal Sinha, Yashwant Jain, Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Champa Devi Pawle, Rupkumari Chowdhary were elected as state Secretaries.

Chief Minister Raman Singh, MP Ramesh Bais and Rajya Sabha MP Nandkumar Sai and other senior party leaders, including MLAs and MPs were made members of the working committee.

Senior leaders Sacchidanand Upasane, Sanjay Shrivastav, MLA Srichand Sundarani and former MLA Subhau Kashyap have been anointed as spokespersons.
