NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta today accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of "misusing" the House privileges, and leveling "false and malicious" allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The party also accused the Chief Minister of trying to "instigate riots" in the country on the demonetisation issue.

Gupta who was marshalled out from the emergency session of Assembly after he launched a counter attack on Kejriwal, also said he will meet the President and Lt Governor to complain against "misuse" of House privileges by the CM.

"Chief Minister Kejriwal has misused the privileged House of Delhi Vidhan Sabha to level baseless, false and malicious allegations against the Prime Minister. I will shortly meet the President and the L-G to complain against him for misuse of the privilege of the House," he said.

Gupta also charged that Kejriwal is trying to "mislead" people and trying to "instigate riots" in the country by raising demonetisation issue in a "negative" manner.

"His only aim is to derail Prime Minister's momentum against black money and spread lies and instigate riots on demonetisation issue," he said.

During the one-day session, Gupta was ordered to be marhsalled out by the Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, as he tried to create "hindrance" during Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's speech on demonetisation.

Earlier, Gupta walked out from the Assembly after Deputy Chief Minsiter Manish Sisodia tabled a resolution to pay condolence to "25 people" who allegedly died while trying to withdraw money and exchange old currency across the country.

Gupta accused Sisodia of lying on the issue while asking him to table a list of such persons to substantiate his claim, but the latter continued to read his resolution.

Annoyed over the Deputy Chief Minister's move, Gupta and his party colleague Jagdish Pradhan walked out of House. The resolution was passed by the voice votes.
