BJP accuses AAP of 'bribing' voters, playing 'communal card'
NEW DELHI: BJP went all out in its attack on AAP on the last day of campaigning for the Delhi polls and charged that the party was trying to "polarise" voters along communal lines and also distributing cash to secure votes.

"There are reports that police have seized liquor bottles from candidates belonging to AAP. Cash is being distributed by AAP candidates," Union Minister and BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman said at a press conference here, during which she also alleged that AAP was playing the communal card to polarise voters.

"Leaders and supporters of AAP have even joined protests which did not have permission, perhaps in order to polarise voters on communal lines," Sitharaman said in an apparent reference to AAP functionary Raghav Chadha's presence at a protest by members of the Christian community against "attacks" on churches in Delhi.

Accusing AAP of "distorting" Prime Minister Narendra Modi's allegation that the party had received funding from unverified sources, she said, "It is surprising that a party obtaining funds from unverified sources is distorting the words of our prime minister and party president Amit Shah".

She added, "If there is any one government which has taken clear and firm steps towards recovering black money, it is the Narendra Modi-led NDA government."
